ALL THAT JAZZ!!!

What a wonderful week of jazz with the 'finest in the world' Lincoln Center Orchestra.  Even our House was reverberating with the soulful music; you know of our 'location, location, location.'

Our chaplain, Lisa Marshal, displayed a beautiful smile and vibrant personality to add to this musical paradise.

A VERY EMOTIONAL WEEK!

War and its warriors; a look at war and the effects on the soldiers.  Not an easy subject for soldiers or civilians to talk about.  Our guests discussed this sobering topic many an evening on the porch.

Our chaplain, Bob Osgood and his wife Nancy, former missionaries to Haiti, provided the positive alternative to war.

These activities took place Week 8:

Wes Moore was a speaker this past week.  We remember the first time Wes Moore came to Chautauqua and the Methodist House.

HOT, HOT, HOT.......ONE OF THE HOTTEST WEEKS!

Heat was a factor this 7th week.   In an attempt to sooth the mind and the brow our chaplain, Steve Taylor and his wife Stacey, brought a coolness into the House with their calm prayerful approach.  Steve taught us about spiritual gifts and the making of maple syrup as a family tradition.

WE ARE BACK ...... AND THE HOUSE WAS ALIVE WITH YOUTH!

After one week of vacation we are back for the remainder of the season.  It is always nice to have youth in the House and this week was an example.  Our two grandsons, Donovan and Nick, found a playmate in the chaplain's son, Will.  They were a key part of the porch activities.

Our chaplain was Mary Kelly and with her husband Jayme and son Will, they provided a positive outgoing climate on our porch.
